There is something particularly sad about an abandoned church. When you look through the broken stained glass windows, you see in your mind’s eye the baptisms, weddings, funerals and other gatherings that took place there.
This is a window from the same church as in my image entitled Holy Field. This abandoned church was once the First Methodist Church in Enderlin, North Dakota; until 1905 when the building was sold, moved to a different location, and renamed the Swedish Methodist Church. It was later renamed the Evangelical Free Church. In recent years, it was moved for a second time and now rests in a farmer's field outside of town.
I love to spend time outdoors, and going out with a camera in my hand makes me so much more aware of everything around me. It's amazing the things I notice that I would otherwise walk by without a glance. I am inspired by the beauty of the different seasons in the Lakes Country of Minnesota, where I live. I hope through my photography to share a little bit of the world as I have come to see it through my lens. I was honored to have my image "Another Day at the Lodge" published in the December 2019 issue of Outdoor Photographer magazine. You can find some of my work at Bridgette's Main Frames in Perham, MN, and at the Red Door Art Gallery in Wahpeton, ND. I hope you enjoy the shots I've chosen to share. Thanks for stopping...
