The Canadian geese have begun to return to Minnesota, only to find the lakes still mostly frozen over. This overcast but relatively warm Sunday afternoon, they were out enjoying a stroll on the ice after a swim in this small area of open water.
I love to spend time outdoors, and going out with a camera in my hand makes me so much more aware of everything around me. It's amazing the things I notice that I would otherwise walk by without a glance. I am inspired by the beauty of the different seasons in the Lakes Country of Minnesota, where I live. I hope through my photography to share a little bit of the world as I have come to see it through my lens. I was honored to have my image "Another Day at the Lodge" published in the December 2019 issue of Outdoor Photographer magazine. You can find some of my work at Bridgette's Main Frames in Perham, MN, and at the Red Door Art Gallery in Wahpeton, ND. I hope you enjoy the shots I've chosen to share. Thanks for stopping...

They are in such a line . . as if to be printed on a wall or pictograph . . .which Canadian geese rarely do . . . really nice composition .. ..!
Penny Meyers replied:
Thank you, Sandy!! It really was funny to watch. Just seconds after this shot, a few of them took off, then the others turned around and walked back the other direction, still in a line.
